Here, Hold My Leash

Isaac and I were getting laundry out of the dryer. I dropped the leash because it can be difficult to hold the leash and manage the laundry and we were just standing in the laundry room and he wasn't going anywhere.

So then I told him to "get it," meaning clothes in the dryer, and instead he picked up the leash and handed it to me. Apparently he thinks I am supposed to be holding that leash.

  1. Kelly, do you ever get the feeling (as I do) that our service dogs are smarter than we are?

    1. Well, you know I think my dog is absolutely brilliant!

It both amazes and amuses me, the things Isaac thinks. I love figuring out what he thinks. Apparently he thinks outside of our apartment, I am supposed to be holding his leash. I mean, he is OK if I take the leash off him, but dropping it is apparently just not right.

  2. I agree, it is amazing what and how they think. Maybe they're the ones who invented "thinking outside the box"!
