Me: Isaac, you are getting a bath.
Isaac: A bath? But why? What are you talking about?
Me: I am talking about rolling in a dead mouse means getting a bath.
Isaac: Huh? What? Since when?
Me: Um, since forever.
Isaac: Are you sure? That doesn't sound right to me.

The Toothbrushing Is Going Really Well
This evening a friend stopped by and we were standing in the kitchen
and and I saw Isaac's toothbrush on the counter, so I picked it up to
show it to my friend. Then I said to Isaac, "Wanna brush your teeth?
Do you want your teeth brushed?" in an excited tone of voice.
I did not expect that Isaac actually would want his teeth brushed, but he started getting all excited and acting like he absolutely wanted them brushed. So I brushed them. He looked less happy and excited when I actually started brushing, but he let me brush his teeth.
This whole toothbrushing thing has turned out to be much easier than I thought it would be.
Whiskers still says there is no way I am brushing hers, though!

Walked into the Bedroom...
and found this.
And yes, that is my pillow his butt is resting on.
Unfortunately for Isaac, he needed his ears cleaned before bed. He is still getting over that ear infection and has to get them cleaned every night and get medication put in them. That disturbed his rest.

Whiskers the Emotional Support Cat
I am finding Whiskers is really good at providing emotional support. The biggest thing is, she sleeps with me!
Isaac does not like to sleep with me. While he is super friendly and social, he isn't exactly snuggly. He will snuggle for brief periods, but at night, he far prefers sleeping without me.
For a while, I thought it was that he just liked lots of room and didn't like sleeping with anyone. Then one night, I had a house guest and Isaac opted to sleep with my guest. Apparently it's not anyone, it's just me. He does not like to sleep with me.
I am guessing it's because I am very restless at night, due to my PTSD. At times I kick and hit and scream and stuff. Not as much these days as I used to, but I think I still do it sometimes.
But maybe not enough to bother Whiskers. At last not so far. Plus, she is still kitten-ish. She gets up in the middle of the night to play. Isaac does not. Isaac likes his sleep.
So Whiskers sleeps with me and is snuggly and friendly and really comforting. I'm finding her really helpful.

Pretty Dog at the Park
This is after a three mile hike, a roll in something stinky, and a swim in the pond. Oh, and after he found some bones. I think they were leg bones from a deer but I'm not sure because there were only a few bones and they were completely clean, no fur or hide or anything left. Isaac was disappointed that I wouldn't let him keep one, but then, he is always disappointed when I don't let him bring home something he finds in the woods.
