I think I have fibromyalgia or something. I've actually thought that for a long time. But my pain is just getting worse and worse.
You know what it feels like when you hit your elbow on something? That spot people refer to as your funny bone? Not that there is anything funny about it. But you know how the pain just kind of rings through your bones for a minute or two?
Well, I feel a lot like that. Only not just in one elbow and not just for a minute or two.
Imagine that kind of ringing pain in both your elbows, both wrists, both hips, both knees and both feet. And imagine it lasts for hours. Imagine it lasts all night. That's what my body feels like.
I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you didn’t overdo it volunteering on Thanksgiving. It’s possible you have fibromyalgia. I’ve read about it and it appears pretty common. I’ve wondered if I have it when my back and neck pain flares and hurts uncontrollably. From what I understand there is a list of symptoms that practitioners look for and there isn’t a cure for it, only management of the pain symptoms through things like Epsom salt baths, trigger point massage, pain medication, and doing light stretching. You probably do these things already but this is a disease that is becoming more prevalent because people are under stress from so many factors. I hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI found this survey online that takes you through a list of symptoms. On the first part, you have to score at least 7 and I scored 12. On the second part, you have to score at least 5 and I scored 9. So according to the survey, I have it. I do Epsom salt baths and light stretching and self massage and some other things. I found some good tips on visualization and meditation and stuff online to help with pain, too.
